Thing 13: K12 Online Conference

Around the world with Skype , a session in the 2009 K12 Online Conference was very useful and practical. In this presentation, several main points were made: hardware and software needed to start Skype, step by step instructions to set up for the first call, strategies and projects to join, and links and resources on how to find and contact more partners. Several examples of Skype in action were presented. The presenter also gave very clear instructions on how to prepare students before their Skype calls.
The presentation is very useful because it helps me explore the option of using Skype to have my students connect with students in other part of the world using the foreign language they are learning.
